Around the world glaciers are receding at a speedier pace than at any decade since records began, said The Times. Researchers from the International Glacier Monitoring Service, which records 29 glaciers across 11 mountain areas, guage that from 1850 to 1971 glaciers were shrinking at a net average rate of 28 centimetres a year.
