KL in a day

After the frenzy in which I took in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, the cool air at Cameron Highlands, 5 hours away, is refreshing. I had planned on doing some jungle trekking today but it’s past 2 and the woman manning the desk at Daniel’s Lodge in Tanah Rata advises me not to proceed as getting caught in the dark deep in the jungle is dangerous. Also, it has been raining the past days, a fact she attributes to global warming. It’s okay as I really need some rest especially since I noticed some red

Is Remission Possible for those with Bush Derangement Syndrome?

Is Barack Obama’s victory alone a cure for Bush Derangement Syndrome? According to Andie Coller at Politico, the lovely, cheery folks at MoveOn.org seem to think so. Apparently, at a recent meeting of the minds (or lack thereof), the higher-ups at the radical left-wing organization decided to cull many of the driving forces and motivations behind their–hold for sarcasm–uplifting and optimistic activist ways. From the article: Last week, the group’s members chose their top four priorities for

2008 CotY BRONZE MEDAL: BILL CLINTON

It’s possible that I’m being too harsh on our 42nd President. Surely one could cite many more egregious examples of cocksuckery in 2008. But the fact is that certain people have grown tiresome as targets of derision. Like a historian would grow weary of discussing Hitler in response to “Who was the worst person of the 20th Century?” I am similarly unenthusiastic about pointing out for the billionth time that Bush, Cheney, O’Reilly, Lieberman, Hannity, and so on are cocksuckers. I would be one l

Global Warming – We desperately need a good summer in 2009 to counteract it.

Climate change takes its toll on British countryside – Telegraph Matthew Oates, the National Trust nature conservation adviser, said; “A cold late spring, a wet summer, with few sunny days, and the long dry autumn has shown how dependent our wildlife is on the weather,” he said. “Many species closely associated with the four seasons are having to cope with higher incidents of poor weather as our climate becomes more unpredictable. “After two very poor years in a row we desperately need a good su

Bush Recession Cuts Deep

America has yet to reach rock bottom.  We’re beyond playing games blaming “W” for all our problems.  Yes, this recession belongs to George W. Bush, in spite of the “W” administration’s lame attempts to preemptively blame the Clinton Administration for any and all recessions to come. History will judge Bush 43.  We need to look forward and help each other through this mess. Economic Survival Rule Number One: Ignore all conservatives henceforth.  Their time has come and gone, and they have left

2008 Loves and Hates

In 1992, the Queen described the year as an ‘annus horribilis‘. If you happen to work in the finance industry or for the Liberals, you might feel the same way about this year. Whilst 2008 will not go down in the history books as a vintage year, there were many inspiring stories to take heart from. These are my loves and hates of this year. Love; Barack Obama During eight dismal years of ever increasing spending, more commitments to foreign soil and dreary rhetoric, the USA had lost its friends a
